Walter Scofield
I have never been able to forgive myself for letting my father kill my younger brother when I was eight years old. Because I did not have any better examples, I became my father. When I joined Nonviolent Communication, I was jaded and cynical, but as time went on, I learned that I could be a different person. Now when I feel tempted to use my old ways, I stop and give myself empathy. My family has stated on many occasions that they can see a difference in me. I am grateful that they recognize the changes I have made.
